Within the Connecting Nature project, several spin-out enterprises and tools were developed:
Connecting Nature Enterprise Platform
The Connecting Nature Enterprise platform is an online marketplace connecting potential buyers with suppliers of nature-based solutions who can help to design, deliver, manage and monitor NBS. This platform is a stand-alone innovation developed in the Connecting Nature project.

EM|Path
EM|Path is a not-for-profit social enterprise that uses a range of people-centred co-production and engagement techniques to support sustainable community development and environmental protection.
The team works across Europe with organisations and groups to help them develop sustainable and inclusive projects, design outputs, conflict resolution and team-building.
EM|Path develops innovative, grounded mixed methodologies that have grown from our combined expertise in anthropology, architecture and urban design, public health policy, humanist psychology, sustainable resource management, adaptive governance, arts and environmental justice.
Connecting Ecology
Connecting Ecology Ltd emerged from the fusion of the Sustainability Research Institute at the University of East London and the Connecting Nature EU Horizon 2020 project. The team has over 15 years of experience collaborating with a diversity of stakeholders from industry, local and national government, government agencies, and not-for-profit organisations, on a range of nature-based solution projects.
Through these collaborations, we have gained a detailed understanding of nature-based solution planning, delivery and legacy processes. We embed this understanding into our research & consultancy to ensure that nature-based solutions are able to fulfil their potential in increasing biodiversity and delivering the ecosystem services that benefit mankind.
CO-Impact Tool
Developed within the Connecting Nature Project, CO-IMPACT is a decision-support tool allowing officers and cities to create impact assessment plans for their NBS/projects. The main objective is to make the process of building a baseline and impact assessment plan straight forward and simple for anyone who wishes to do so, with the final report providing advice around suitable methodologies based on scale and project characteristics.
CO-IMPACT guides you step by step through an intuitive process, where the user selects the targets they intend to reach with their NBS/ project, and the tool provides a set of indicators adapted to these benefits. As a final result, the user will obtain a custom-made plan for their project, with a description of each of the selected indicators, the scientific evidence behind it, as well as the recommended methodology and instruments for its measurement.
